Three parts have been divided in the installation of AC. Installation of AC involves firstly installation of the indoor unit and the sub steps include ; selection of an unobstructed location on the interior wall to mount the indoor air conditioning unit, securing of the mounting plate to the interior wall and creation of hole to fit in the piping among others. There are some dos and don’ts that need to be observed during selection of an unobstructed location on the interior wall to mount the indoor air conditioning unit.
The dos and don’ts of the first step include installing the unit at least one meter away from the antenna, connecting lines, power, radio, television, telephones among others, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources and avoiding locations where oil mist exists or gas may leak.
A series of steps is accompanied by securing the mounting plate to the interior wall. Holding the mounting plate against the wall, using a level to make sure the plate is horizontally level, drilling holes into the wall at appropriate spots to affix the plate to the wall and finally inserting plastic anchors into the holes are the steps of securing the mounting plate to the interior wall. The third step is creation of a hole in the wall to fit the piping and involves a three sub step procedure. Finding the best spot for the hole to the exterior based on the opening in the mounting bracket, drilling a hole that has a diameter of about eight centimeters through the wall in which the slope should be downward toward the exterior and finally inserting a flexible flange into the hole are the procedures of creating a hole in the wall for piping.
The fourth step involves checking the electrical connections which involves lifting the unit’s front panel, removing the cover and being sure the cable wires are connected to the screw terminals. Steps involving connection of pipes follows suit. Connection of pipes involves a lengthy procedure in which finally the drainage pipe allows water to drain in an appropriate place.
Securing the indoor unit to the mounting plate by pressing the unit against the mounting plate is the final step of installation of the indoor unit. The next part in the installation of an AC unit is installation of the outdoor condenser. Choosing the best place to the outdoor unit which also involves choosing the outdoor unit location needs away from any hot, trafficked areas and having a considerable space that ensures proper functioning is involved in installation of an outdoor unit. The next sub step is laying and leveling the ground using a concrete pad. The concrete pad should be high enough so that the condenser sits above winter levels.
